De Kast (2022)
Angelika Fuchs was born in a village on the Belgian border, far away from everything. It’s a part of the country where sooner or later many people leave, to study or to find decent work. In their new environment, experiences from home are of only limited use, and can even be an obstacle. In Watou, Angelika recognises something of her own background. ‘DE KAST’ (‘The Cupboard’) is her take on the topics of leaving and identity. During the exhibition, the object will switch places several times, leaving its mark everywhere, without really committing to anywhere.
