In down-to-earth West Flanders, it’s often said that you should keep both feet on the ground, and not allow yourself to ‘float’. Vervenne and Callewaert want to turn this sentiment upside down: they want as many visitors as possible to float. Because the voices bringing people down urgently need a counterweight, and also because getting off the ground is just fun. At the brewery in Watou, they’ve set up an installation where visitors can quite literally put their weight in the balance. The more people stand on the scales, the more beautiful things will appear.
