ONTVOUWEN GRENZEN (2022)
After 20 years of inactivity due to the free movement of people and goods, the Watou customs office is making a comeback. At the arts festival, De Reuringsdienst wants to add the free movement of stories to that list. In ‘Ontvouwen grenzen’ (‘Unfolded Borders’), the Dutch art collective lays claim to the stories and traditions of Watou, aided by Marie Darah, Giovanni Baudonck and Benjamin Hertoghs, word and sound artists. The poetry produced by this trio is converted into an on-site installation, which playfully points out to visitors where the boundary markers of various inhabitants of Watou are located.
